Illegal immigrants play a central role in US society.  Illegal immigrants, largely Mexican nationals, have come to the United States for one purpose; to work.  Illegal immigrants contribute to our society through mowing our lawns, working construction, pouring concrete, and picking fruit.  Yet, because they are "illegal" they do not always pay taxes.  Illegal immigrants and their children are nevertheless provided with health care and an education with our tax dollars, as they should be.  We support a general amnesty for all illegal immigrants currently living in the United States.  A general amnesty granting citizenship to all illegal immigrants would provide the states and the federal government with increased tax revenues which could then be used to fund the health care programs and education services used by illegal immigrants and their families.
